Community is EVERYTHING
At FMC Books, our community is built one book club and one flash mob at a time. These gatherings aren’t just events—they’re rituals of connection, chaos, and mutual obsession. Whether you're whispering about spice levels over snacks or showing up in a corset to storm downtown with fellow book lovers, you’re part of the magic. We believe in low-pressure meetups, high-impact friendships, and the kind of joy that only comes from giggling about fictional men in public. This is how we make space—for readers, for weirdos, and for each other. (Double check the calendar for the most up to date info, this is a nightmare to update.)

6/5 First Friday w Erin Warren
Meet ErinOriginally from Iowa and now rooted in Missoula, Erin’s work explores femininity, vulnerability, rebirth, and the quiet force of womanhood through bold, block print–inspired paintings.
Balancing abstraction and clarity, her pieces reveal layered forms and emotions that emerge slowly with time and distance. We are beyond thrilled to have Erin back as our special anniversary guest with a deeply personal collection shaped by symbolism, nature, and the human form.
Join us for an intimate evening of art that feels both quietly powerful and emotionally resonant. -
6/7-13 Chapter Two Anniversary Week
More InfoOne year ago, FMC Books opened its doors in downtown Missoula… and somehow this weird little romance bookstore became a community.
What started with books turned into craft nights, queer joy, dark romance, friendship, chaos, and a whole lot of emotional support paperbacks.
We spent year one building the store.
Year two? We’re getting louder.
Welcome to Chapter Two.
WE WERE NEVER MEANT TO BEHAVE. 🖤 -
6/15 Speak Out & Stand Tall
Learn MoreJoin FMC Books for Speak Out & Stand Tall, a community-centered workshop exploring non-surgical gender-affirming care through vocal coaching, safe packing and tucking education, and affirming conversation around identity, confidence, and embodiment. This event is designed to provide practical tools, supportive resources, and welcoming space for people exploring gender expression or supporting loved ones on their journey. Centered around safety, self-expression, and community care, the workshop reflects Pride’s spirit of visibility, autonomy, and belonging — because everyone deserves to feel at home in their body, voice, and presentation.
